Ringing in 2017 at the Tea Circle

Happy New Year and Happy Myanmar Independence Day!

Many thanks to everyone who has visited and supported our site in the past year. Tea Circle has been growing rapidly, expanding our editorial team and aiming to increase the frequency of our posts. We’re looking forward to an even more successful 2017.

Some of you may have already noticed that we have upgraded our site design here at Tea Circle. We hope that you find the new design better looking and easier to navigate. We also plan to include more visual content in the coming months.

As we continue to grow at Tea Circle, we are always looking for contributions. We run academic analysis, opinion pieces, notes from the field, personal reflections, book reviews, poems, and many other types of posts. You don’t have to be an academic or associate with Oxford to submit something. Don’t worry if your English isn’t perfect, our excellent team of editors can help.

We have also created a new official affiliation of “Contributor,” which is a designation for people who make a commitment to writing at least four posts for Tea Circle each year. If you’re interested in becoming a contributor, please contact us at editor@teacircleoxford.com. And of course, we’re always happy to have individual submissions if you’re not ready to make a larger commitment. You may also want to consider submitting something to our current forum on Myanmar’s Waterways.

Whether you take your tea poun hman or kya sein, or if you prefer CoffeeMix or simply ye nwe gyan, you’re welcome at the Tea Circle. Best wishes to all in the coming year!
